20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder

Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a 21-year-old man at an address in Greenlaw Crescent, Glenrothes.

The death was reported to police around 10am on Saturday, September 9.

Police attended the address along with the Scottish Ambulance Service, however the 21-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The 20-year-old was immediately detained by our Criminal Investigation Department and later charged.

He is scheduled to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday, September 11.

Detective Chief Inspector Scott Cunningham of Fife’s Criminal Investigation Department said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family as they come to terms with their terrible loss.

“Officers will be conducting enquiries and high visibility patrols in the local area over the coming days in order to reassure the local community.
