£8700 worth of cannabis seized from a property in Fife

A man and woman have been arrested after a significant quantity of cannabis was seized from a property in Levenmouth.

Acting on intelligence, local officers recovered the class B drugs, which have a street value of approximately £8700, and a sum of money from an address in Methil on Friday.

The male and female, who are both aged 33, were subsequently arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

They have since been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Community Sergeant Craig Fyall from Levenmouth Police Station said: “As a result of this activity, local officers have successfully prevented a significant amount of drugs from reaching the community.

“This is another example of positive action taken to remove illegal drugs from our streets, which has served a damaging blow to the local drugs network.

“I can reassure the public that we will always act on information that is passed to us and if anybody has any information in relation to drug dealing in their area then they can contact police on 101.
