Appeal after breakin and significant theft in Rosyth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in at a residential property in the Rosyth area of Fife.

The incident happened sometime between 10am and 4pm on Monday 14th January, 2019 in the Woodside Avenue area of Rosyth.

After entry was forced to the premises, valuables worth over £4,000 were stolen and included jewellery, camera equipment, and alcohol.

Inquiries are ongoing to trace these items and identify those responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Detective Constable Steven Walker of Dunfermline CID said: “We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Woodside Avenue area of Rosyth, or who may have captured any suspicious vehicles on private CCTV or dash cam footage, to come forward.

“In particular we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a light grey, small to medium sized family car in the area, both before and after the incident, or the driver of this vehicle, who is described as being over 5 foot tall, of slim build with neck length hair which was messy/straggly and dark facial hair. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket.”

“Anyone who has information about regarding this crime is asked to contact Dunfermline CID on 101, quoting incident 2471 of 14th January, or contact the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
