Attack treated as attempted murder in Lochore

Officers are treating the attack of a man in Lochore on Sunday as attempted murder.

Emergency services were called to Loch Leven Road, outside the Co-op, around 4.30pm.

A 30-year-old man had sustained several serious injuries in the Loch Leven Gardens area a short time earlier.

He was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where he is now in a stable condition.

Enquiries so far suggest that the victim may have been injured by two men.

Detective Inspector Colin Robson, of Dunfermline CID, said:
“We’re continuing to conduct extensive enquiries and I’d like to thank the local community for their help so far.

“I’d urge anyone who witnessed the attack and has not yet spoken to officers to contact us as soon as possible.

“We’re eager to trace a dark-coloured BMW car and a Ford Transit type van that were seen in the area around this time.

“Anyone who may have seen these vehicles, or who has any other information which can assist, is also asked to get in touch.”
