A man has been charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act following the recovery of Class A drugs in Dunfermline.

Officers carried out a personal search of a male on Blacklaw Road at around 5pm on Tuesday 15th May where they recovered heroin with a value of around £4,700.

The 47-year-old was arrested and will appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday 13th June.

Sergeant Neil McGurk from the Community Investigation Unit in Dunfermline said: ” This is another significant recovery as part of the ongoing Operation Prospect initiative, targeting substance misuse throughout the Kingdom.

“Whenever we have information or intelligence to suggest drugs offences are taking place we will respond accordingly.
