Detective Inspector Colin Robson of Dunfermlince CID has today issued a statement following a reported street robbery near the Glen Bridge Car Park in Dunfermline on Monday.
He said “Although crimes of this nature are rare for Dunfermline, all reports are treated with the utmost seriousness and investigated thoroughly.
“On this occasion we’ve established that no crime occurred.
“I wish to thank the public for their patience and understanding over the course of this inquiry as we appreciate that when information of this circulated online it may have had an impact.
“Anyone who wishes to report a crime or has information that might assist Police Scotland is asked to contact the non-emergency number 101.
“Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
