SERIOUS ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION IN METHIL

Police are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision on Wellesley Road, Methil.

The incident happened on Saturday, November 5, on Wellesley Road near to the junction with Patterson Street. Around 12.30pm an 83-year-old female pedestrian was involved in a collision with a silver Hyundai i20.

The woman sustained several serious injuries. She was treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service and was then taken to the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the Hyundai was uninjured. The road was temporarily closed while initial inquiries were conducted and was reopened around an hour later.

Police are currently investigating and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Police Sergeant James Henry of Fife Division’s Road Policing Unit said: “We are currently investigating this collision and we are eager to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it.

“I would ask that anyone who was on Wellesley Road around 12.30pm on Saturday, November 5, and has information that can assist our inquiries, to come forward and get in touch with us immediately.”
